As You Grow, You Change;
As You Change, You Grow!

Dr. Allie Crowe

Forming new relationships can be a challenge, especially when your mental health is involved.  I have traveled a personal journey through mental health issues and can relate to what you may be feeling.  Becoming a counselor has been a growing desire since completing my master's degree.   As a chaplain resident with WellSpan York Hospital, spiritual care and counseling took on a new meaning.  Your entire being comprises your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.  As we focus on your mental health, the other areas will play a factor.  Your spirituality is that which gives you meaning and purpose.

I am a pastor at the Westernport Church of the Brethren.  I am a Christ-follower; however, I understand not everyone sees things or believes things the way I do.  I welcome you as you are, wanting to help you along your journey through that which gives you meaning and purpose.

I have a music (vocal) background with a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2011.  Upon graduation, I thought I would venture out and audition for shows in New York or Chicago.  I had a different calling that began in 2013.  I was asked to fill the pulpit at my church, paving the way toward becoming a pastor.  I began my master's degree at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota in January of 2016. Through ups and downs and major roadblocks in my mental health, being a pastor was not all I was meant to do.  To complete my master's degree, I performed clinical education requirements and an internship through a chaplain residency program with WellSpan York Hospital.  This residency revealed a desire to journey with individuals looking to better themselves with healing and restoration of mental health issues.  I completed my residency and graduated from Luther Seminary in August of 2020, the year of the pandemic.

The Westernport Church of the Brethren hired me in July of 2020 as their pastor. Within a year of this new role, I felt a pull to go back to school.  After researching different schools and programs, I found myself applying for the Doctor of Ministry program with Liberty University.   The focus was going to be on counseling with an emphasis in individual/family and crisis/trauma.  The journey through the program was rewarding and helped provide the additional education to help me become a mental health advocate for you.

It isn’t about forgetting what happened but learning to live differently as you heal. Allow someone to be your advocate as you navigate this new chapter! I can't promise to fix it for you, but I can promise to walk with you as we work together to nurture your mental health.
